Why is compression slow on large files?

We use multi-threaded FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, which uses all your CPU cores. A 260MB video typically compresses in 2-4 minutes on modern hardware.

Is there a file size limit?

Currently 500MB per file. This is a browser memory constraint. Files above this limit are best compressed using a desktop application.
